INDIAN DEFENSE MARKET – A STEP AHEAD TOWARDS A BETTER FUTURE ON GLOBAL DEFENSE MART

The ongoing Seoul International Aerospace and Defense International exhibition (ADEX) 2013 from 29.10.2013 till 03.11.2013 (Sunday) has shown that Indian Defense market has the capability to produce Defense Weapons and in the coming future the Indian manufacturers will have the potential to provide arms & weapons in Global Arms market in a very cost effective and in a shorter time frame.
In an interview with South Korean Yonhap news agency Mr. Avinash Chandra, scientific advisor to the defense ministry said that DRDO it was the first time that his agency displayed the surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, Akash and Pragati, outside India. DRDO has displayed a wide range of indigenous weapons at ADEX to showcase its export potential to global aerospace giants and senior military officials of foreign nations. This will also enable the Indian defense industry in the development process to access a wider market base.
India is hoping to see more industrial cooperation with South Korean companies who already running successful business ventures in India and have expanded their footprint in the defense sector. The official also claimed that South Korea, being a strategic partner of India and a technologically strong country, is a natural partner for India and Indian and Korean capabilities can be complemented to produce advanced cutting edge defense systems.
